Been too long since I posted, and I have been debating internally and externally about the project’s scope. The two lines of thought have been A. To collect only data that fits the specific requirements, such as a dividend that is 5% or more of a stock’s price or B. To collect all stocks regardless. In this instance I have chosen to go with B as I plan to work a lot more with this data and as I can easily filter for dividend to stock price later, but getting all stocks will allow me a larger pool of data to calculate things like eps accurately. As such, I have gotten the bulk of the basic code framework done, and now I need to work on stopping possible errors like files being deleted or needing to be updated and things like missing fields or info.
